Located in south-central Saskatoon, Saskatchewan within the Nutana Suburban Development Center, Avalon is a residential neighbourhood that is home to 3,214. Three parks, two schools, and a shopping centre strip mall service the residents of this community.

There are two schools in Avalon. John Lake School is a public elementary school belonging to the Saskatoon Public School Division was constructed in 1959.

Parks and Recreation
Three parks can be found throughout the Avalon neighbourhood: C.P. Seeley Park, John Lake Park, and Avalon Park.
The main commercial development is the Avalon Shopping Centre, a strip mall located on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Cascade Street. There are also two small commercial areas along Ruth Street: one between Lorne and Vernon Avenues, and another at Melrose Avenue. In addition, there are 40 home-based businesses in the neighbourhood.
The nearest public library is the J.S. Wood branch of the Saskatoon Public Library which is located at the corner of Lansdowne Avenue and Taylor Street.
