Education
There are two schools in Avalon. John Lake School is a public elementary school belonging to the Saskatoon Public School Division was constructed in 1959.
Additionally, a separate Catholic elementary school named Georges Vanier School (part of the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division) is located in the Avalon neighbourhood.

Three parks can be found throughout the Avalon neighbourhood: C.P. Seeley Park, John Lake Park, and Avalon Park.

The main commercial development is the Avalon Shopping Centre, a strip mall located on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Cascade Street. The nearest public library is the J.S. Wood branch of the Saskatoon Public Library which is located at the corner of Lansdowne Avenue and Taylor Street.
