This neighborhood is also sometimes known by the name of Thornton after a now decommissioned school that used to be in the area.

Neighbourhood Amenities

Education

There is just one school in Exhibition.  A Catholic elementary school named St. Frances School (part of the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division) is located in the Exhibition neighbourhood.

The former Saskatoon Public School Division elementary school named Thornton was decommissioned in 1986 and torn down in 1997.

Parks and Recreation

To the west is the Diefenbaker Management Area which boasts the Diefenbaker park and Pioneer Cemetery. The park includes a medium-sized hill which is used for tobogganing and snowboarding, and the park itself is a frequently-used venue for picnics and public events and performances.

Additional Amenities

Commercial development includes a service station at the corner of Ruth Street and Lorne Avenue, commercial development at Lorne Avenue and Taylor Street, and a number of light-industrial businesses on St. George Avenue and Isabella Street West.

The nearest public library serving Exhibition is the J.S. Wood branch of the Saskatoon Public Library, which is located at the corner of Lansdowne Avenue and Taylor Street.

Arts and culture

Located within Exhibition south of Ruth Street is the Western Development Museum Saskatoon branch which focuses on the theme 1910 - Boomtown.  Actual buildings from the era, combined with recreations, are kept in a climate-controlled environment and filled with artifacts of the time. Buildings on site include a homestead, a police station, a bank, a newspaper office (with working printing press), a saddle shop, a general store, and a dentist's office, to name a few. The museum also includes displays of vintage automobiles and farm equipment.

Annually the Exhibition neighbourhood becomes home to the Saskatoon Ex - with rides, midway, and trade shows - located at Prairieland Park and Saskatoon Exhibition Grounds south of Ruth Street.
